Game Thread: 8-25-2006 Redlegs V. Giants

    per Marc:

    No surprises

SAN FRANCISCO -- I've got to say, it's nice not to have the urge to post the lineup every day anymore. The consistency has worked well for everybody, I think, except maybe Clayton/LaRue/Valentin.

Anyway, it's the same group tonight, except the expected start for LaRue with Harang on the mound. LaRue has caught 23 of Harang's last 24 starts and the last 13 in a row heading into tonight.

LaRue also has some good numbers against Morris, if I'm not mistaken.

Ross has been all sorts of clutch the last few weeks, though. I don't see how you can justify putting his bat on the bench right now.

Well, you really can't, but if you're going to play LaRue, I'd rather it be against someone he has a history against...

LaRue wouldn't hit me and my 78 MPH heat tonight. Something's off with him. Doesn't matter if he has a history against the pitcher or not. This is not the LaRue of 03-05.

LaRue is guarenteed an AB in the 7,8, or 9th inning tonight. You can PH for him there. He has been a GREAT PH'er for us too.

something is off and I wonder what it is. Some of it is of course luck of where it's hit, he's hit some good slugs and they've been caught. There's been a lot of anxiousness because he's not been hitting and Ross is. He was the starter and now he isn't which brings on some pressure.... lots of things but it boils down to he isn't hitting and that's what people focus on.

It would be great to spank Morris tonight because 1) I've always hated him and 2) he turned his nose up at the Reds as a FA (I know it was under DanO and it's a money thing, but still...)

Any predictions tonight from TheBigLebowski? You were aces last night with that Ross homer.
