    8/25/06 Minors Updates

    Cueto went for Sarasota tonight.

    Final Line:
    5.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R (earned), 1 BB, 4 K, 1 HR

His scoreless streak ended, but it is good to see he walked only 1 guy.

Solid outing, and his High A ERA stands at 3.95.

Bats losing to Toledo, 10-4 in the ninth.

Chattanooga is tied 2-2 in the seventh. Josh Hall is pitching and doing well.

Sarasota is cruising past Clearwater 8-2.

Dayton lost the opener of a doubleheader, 2-1. Juan Rojas blew the save by giving up two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Billings is leading Orem 2-0 early, thanks to C Tony Esquer's two-run double. Again Chris Valaika wasted no time, smacking a base hit in his first at-bat to become the record holder for the all-time longest hit streak in Pioneer League history-31 games.

And he got Dustan Mohr looking leading off, grounded Ramon Santiago out to third, and retired Kevin Hooper on a first-pitch comebacker. Eleven pitches. All three of those guys are former major-leaguers.

Chatt and their opponents both score a run late, so it goes to the ninth still tied at 3.

Sarasota finished Clearwater 8-3. Besides the Cueto outing, Cody Strait slammed his 16th homer.

Dayton is leading SW Michigan 1-0 in the third. Carlos Fisher has whiffed six in the first three innings.

Billings still up 2-0 in the third.

Johnny Cueto is now 14-3 on the season. minorleaguebaseball.com now has new player profile where they combine the stats if a player played for two or more teams this season.
