Top 5 Favorite Songs by [_________]

A couple of years ago we had a "5 Favorite Bob Dylan Songs" thread that went on for awhile. It afforded a lot of depth for people wanting to expand their Dylan collections.

What I have in mind here is putting down your 5 favorite songs for any good singer or band. I'm constantly looking for new music to add to my mp3 collection, so this could be a way for all of us to share. Let's find some sleepers...

I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

I was never much of a Stones fan, but "Fool To Cry" is one of the lesser known songs that I really enjoy. It was used in the movie Beautiful Girls, but it was left off the soundtrack for some reason.

I do like Todd Snider's "Conservative Christian, Right Wing, Republican, Straight, White American Male". But I think I like "The Ballad of the Kingsmen" even more.

No I haven't. I've got Pt 1 of their Anthology and need to get Pt 2.

One of the MTV Unplugged CD's had a fantastic version of Neil Young doing "Hurricane." It's worth a look if you can find it.

The Neil Young vs. Lynard Skynard lyric feud was one of the more underrated sidebars in rock history. I think Warren Zevon got in on the act with "Play It All Night Long."
