Everything seems to happen in either Kentucky or Florida (well, at least with Henry and Freel)...:
    2024 Reds record attending: 1-0
    2024 Dragons record attending: 0-0
    2024 Y'Alls record attending: 0-0

And another 10 years in the slammer.

Sad to see another talented athlete throw it all away.

    Talent?

He had enough talent to get open, but not enough desire to make the catch. Long on talent, short on heart. Hit him in the numbers in the end zone and he drops it. TJ goes down for two weeks, and the deep ball disappears because Henry can't convince anyone he's a threat. Trying to drive late with the clock winding down, and he runs a post instead of an out. Drop one a half-step in front of him on a fly pattern in a game that means something, and he barely sticks an arm out. Unsportsmanlike conduct for taking his freaking helmet off. False starts, for cripes sake.

Sure, he's young, Sure, he's a rookie. But the guy never improved. Heck, half the stuff I mentioned happened down the stretch. He's the Bengals' Wily Mo Pena.

Even if he skates, the Bengals have to let him walk. To save face now, and to prevent black eyes later.
    Makes all the routine posts.

    Re: Chris Henry arrested again

According to the 11 o'clock local news, the gun was stolen in Tampa last month. Per the officer, he came "this close" to shooting Henry.... he pulled the gun out of his waistband and leveled it toward someone in the crowd, which is the only reason the officer did not shoot. Instead of shooting, Henry then threw the gun into the limo.

He's in big trouble, plus he still has the unresolved drug charge hanging over his head.

For the life of me, I don't understand how a guy with so much going for him would resort to this.

    Re: Chris Henry arrested again

I was just reading Florida has an automatic 10-20-life law when it comes to gun offenses if they consider this tied in with a felony.

If you possess a gun while committing a felony it is an automatic 10 year sentence.
If you point a gun while committing a felony it is an automatic 20 year sentence.
You get a life sentence by discharging a gun in comitting a felony.

It depends how a prosecutor rules on this but if they consider any of this a felony charge he could going to jail for a very long time.

This comes as no surprise to anyone who follows WVU sports. He was suspended twice his last year with the Mountaineers and left school early when Coach Rod told him he wouldnt play in Morgantown again. Very immature and undisciplined. But............he is talented, and someone somewhere will always risk the embarrassment he will eventually bring to their program.
    Let's play two!!!

Sadly, this guy has just been trouble for too long. If I were a Bengal fan, I wouldnt want him near my team. Part of me admires Marvin for trying to help the kid, bringing him in and hopefully helping him get it right. However, there comes a time, and with this type of behavior that time comes very soon, where the best thing for you team, the game and Chris Henry is to send him packing.

Whats worse is that if he isn't in Jail, he will be playing somewhere next year. Too many are willing to look the other way for talent.
Nothing to see here. Please disperse.

    Re: Chris Henry arrested again

It must have been fairly easy to identify him, since he was reportedly wearing HIS OWN BENGALS JERSEY!

    http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

    HENRY IN VERY HOT WATER

Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com explains that the arrest of receiver Chris Henry on multiple weapons charges could expose him to a suspension, given that the arrest occurred while Henry already was in the league's substance abuse program by virtue of his December 2005 arrest for marijuana possession.

It could be the least of Henry's problems.

Redskins safety Sean Taylor faces similar charges in Florida, but his chances of an acquittal are significant. It will be hard for a jury to find proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, given that the prosecution's evidence comes from guys who allegedly had stolen Taylor's ATV. With the key witnesses at odds over the question of whether Taylor pointed a gun, the jury easily could throw up its collective hands and let Taylor walk.

In contrast, Henry was caught red-handed by . . . a cop. Unless the defense can make the whole Mark Fuhrman thing stick, it's highly unlikely that the juror will disregard the officer's sworn account, which likely will be corroborated by members of the group at whom the gun allegedly was pointed -- or by some of the people who were with Henry. Indeed, the official police report indicates that one of the members of Henry's group told police that "Henry had the firearm because they came to the [nearby] club last week and had problems."

Meanwhile, it turns out that the one fact we regarded as conclusive proof that the story was bogus when it was handed to us on Sunday morning turns out to be accurate. In an e-mail, the tipster told us: "Chris Henry arrested in Orlando for possession of a stolen handgun. He was about to point it at someone but was arrested at gunpoint before doing so. He was wearing his Bengal jersey while doing so."

    Wearing his Bengal jersey? Riiiiiiiiight.

Um. Take a gander at his mugshot, courtesy of WCPO:

Looks like a Bengals jersey to us. So unless it was a Bob Trumpy throwback or something, our guess is that Chris was honoring himself on the same night that he likely ruined his career, and perhaps his life.

Jails are full of guys who had a lot going for them. And a six figure salary doesn't exactly build character in a lot of folks, it usually detracts from it. Add a lot of money to poor character and you have a disaster waiting to happen. It appears that this is a win some (Thurman) and you lose some (Henry) when drafting folks with questionable characters based on behavior in college. And being able to predict which one would make anyone a rich man or woman.

If convicted, I don't think he should playing in the NFL next year, or ever. Not only should the Bengals can him, but he should be kicked out of the NFL.
