Career ERA+ of 96, which is below average, but only slightly. In his four full major league seasons he's posted ERA+s of 104, 100, 89, and 105, which is about as close to dead on league-average as you can get. His 1.4 WHIP is not real good, though.

Phillies just won after the Braves left fielder dropped a fly.

Lefties often bloom late, and Schilling's stuff was and is a thousand times better than Lohse's.

Interestingly, Lohse's #1 comparison through last year was Chris Carpenter. #2? Jeff Weaver. So I'd say his career path is unpredictable.

Add the metrics up in a ledger and you get a somewhat below-average pitcher with a decent fastball who yet has no idea how to K people. Bad, bad, bad.

Lohse is all we got right now. Complaining about Lohse is like complaining about eating Tuna Fish when that's all you got in the fridge. It is what it is.

Short term has been very good....long term we don't know.

Right now, in September, during a postseason race, short term is all that matters

Speaking of which, do I make pasta or rice for dinner? Discuss.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.
