A Special Shout out Wayne Krvisky

For costing the team in the playoffs back in late June.

He traded 2 solid offensive players for what turned out to be literally nothing in exchange this year. Our bullpen may have improved alittle and that was no thanks to Bray or Majewski, but the offense took a complete 180 and is now bad.

    Thanks Wayne.

Just remember that Joey Hamilton no longer plays for the Reds, and that fuzzy comforting feeling will keep you warm even into the cold and bleak October nights.

That, and a good bottle of Bushmills.

Can't "like" the trade anymore because it didn't make us better. But please remember this team was BELOW .500 before the deal-- we're basically the exact same team, just losing in a different way. Honestly, we were never on a path to the playoffs, it just fooled us because everyone else stunk too.

They were actually over .500 at the time of the deal. I do agree the playoffs were likely a pipedream even if the trade wasn't made.

Trade gives WayneK about $5mm to play with in the offseason
(FL gets $3.5M, AK $2.5M minus $400k each for Bray and Maj).
Let's see what he can come up with.

Oh, boy 1 game. This team was never meant to be no matter what. Krivsky's failure with Kearns/Lopez was more of a failure into the future even if Bray and Maj are doing doing good in the following years.

Kearns - .241/.772 after the trade
Lopez - .287/.749 after the trade

Those "solid" offensive players would have done the same thing in dragging down the Reds.

No dice - understand the "frustration" but as usual, nothing like a dead horse beating to stir up the restless natives looking for a noose.

Keep looking at the pitching & defense and questionable field managerial selections and tactics.

What is funny is that the two "solid players" sent to Washington have become part of a team that is significantly further out of the race now than when they arrived. As of this morning they (the Nationals) were 27.5 games back.

So they are so valuable here that without them we crumble. Yet they are so impotent in Washington that the team goes backwards. Something doesn't add up there.
a super volcano of ridonkulous suckitude.

I simply don't have access to a "cares about RBI" place in my psyche. There is a "mildly curious about OBI%" alcove just before the acid filled lake guarded by robot snipers with lasers which leads to the "cares about RBI" antechamber though. - Nate

    Kearns/Lopez since the deal:

    396ab, 105h, 20d, 2t, 8hr, 45 rbi, .265avg, .386slg

Even condsidering roughly half the games are at DC, still not very good numbers.

Thanks Wayne for bringing in players like Phillips, Hatteburg and Arroyo.

And for taking a chance to grab a playoff spot that almost fell within reach by bringing in some pitchers. In previous years it was almost like we didn't have a GM.

Thanks for not rushing Homer to the bigs. He looks like a good one but I don't think he was ready to be a pennant race savior.

That Washington thing didn't work out as planned, but at least you freed up some cash for the offseason.

    Happy hunting.

PS - No more Joe Mays, please.

Actually it's the offense that's let them down in crunch time. If they'd scored 5 runs a game for the past month they'd still be in it. We all had our doubts about this team in April but I think most of us felt they were capable of scoring 5 runs a game.

This team wasn't going anywhere without the trade either. If you need to rail on WK to help with your frustration, then so be it. There's a reason this team wasn't picked to make the playoffs before the season and that had nothing to do with the present GM.
