Might as well find out how he handles the position for the remainder of the season.

And while they're at it, why not give second baseman Brendan Harris a look at second?

Agreed. Play the kids. We know Castro already.

I thought the same thing initially but OTOH maybe having castro at 2B in Phillips first game at SS this year isn't such a horrible thing.

I would like to see Harris play some though.

I think you're right in that they've already been communicating in tandem. I like this taking a look.

I have not quite grasped the reluctance to putting Phillips at shortstop sooner. I'm guessing there may be confidence issues and past failures that are dictating such "kid glove" treatment, but this is really a move that should have been made right after Lopez was shipped to D.C.

No, Krusty. The Reds are obviously trying to get Harang his 15th win today. They left AH in the game for 9 and are not experimenting today. Showing appreciation to a fine pitcher.

RA has played hundreds of games at shortstop in the major leagues. Phillips, as of last week, had started exactly one game there. I fully understand the Reds decision today and agree with it.

And great at bat by Clayton to win the game today.
