    New Forum Title

    All,

We have reason to believe that the forum title "Down on the Farm" may be contributing to the number of automated spam accounts that have hit this site recently, so I've renamed the forum. If you have any suggestions for what we should call it, please respond here. Thanks.

Boss-hog, I think Minor League Talk sounds just fine to me. Honestly, I spend most of my time on the forum in this little part of the board these days.

How about "Stubbs Lovers Anonymous". That name may bring in more spam though.

How does the forum title contribute to receiving automated spam?

I've always liked "Bush Leagues" to refer to the minors, but I can imagine that might create an automated spam problem as well

It had the word "Farm" in it. I'm not sure if using the word "Minor" will help much either. If it doesn't help matters, may I suggest "Futures Forum".

    yeah...yeah. "DOWN on the farm."

Seriously, I've been thinking of alternate names and it's hard to come up with names that wouldn't invite spam. No references to 'farm', 'bush leagues', 'minors', 'development', 'kids', 'Single, Double, Triple A', 'up and comers' etc, etc. To many sexual innuendos in all of that stuff.

The only thing that I can come up with is a variation of Chip's idea, Future Redlegs.

The old Gammons notes column on the minor leagues was called Majoring in the Minors.

"Baseball participants for the Cincinnati Reds who have not reached Cincinnati, because they are participating in lower levels of competition yet are still property of said organization."

    A little long but catchy!

Along those lines, how about "Doc Hollywood's future patients"?

The only problem with this title is that it would seemingly exclude discussion of players in other organizations. Otherwise very catchy
