“I’m a normal guy blessed with the ability to hit a baseball.” - Sean Casey
And besides, Krivsky and Robert C. love Narron, so case closed. Until this new organization wakes up and realizes that to win you have to have a manager who knows how to win and a GM who can alter his philosophy to fit a team's makeup, we will continue to fail. We came close and they are to be congratulated for that (Cast, Krivsky, Narron), but this was an unusual year. You can bet 2007 will see the resurgance of the Cardinals and Astros, and maybe the Cubs. As I've said before, Krivsky better have a dynamite off season.
"You only have to bat a thousand in two things; flying and heart transplants. Everything else you can go 4-for-5."
I hope very little manpower is spent searching for a new manager, and tons of it expended on improving the roster, top to bottom.
No way in Hades does Narron not start the 2007 season as manager.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him fired mid-season as the first 'wake-up slap' to Krivsky b/c unless Krivsky pulls some serious magic out of his butt, the Reds will not have the benefit of a poor National League and their record will reflect it.
Cedric 3/24/08It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...
His record was 30 under .500 with Texas, so at least his career record is trending in the right direction.
I pray for Joe Girardi.
I hope it's never sunny in Philly again.
I just dont see them getting rid of Narron this offseason. If he fails next year then im sure they will but not now. No way he gets fired.
Wow, I can't believe it, but I agree with FCB, all you want from a Manager is that he doesn't hurt the team, upgrading the roster is much more important.
