    Random thought on internet polling

I constantly see polls on CNN.com and before I even vote and read the answer I know the result. It is always going to be 50% or higher for whatever the negative result is.

Is that the cynical state of the world or just the cynical state of human beings in general?

Totally random I know, but something that irks me.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

I don't know if it reflects on the cynical state of humans or not, but I do think some folks really enjoy taking the oppisate opinion of the majority just to be different. In some cases it's an ego thing, in others its because people feel clever and in still others it's just some need to be different.

The nature of the poll question would also effect the responces. If the poll were about a hotbutton issue getting a 50/50 type responce isn't shocking and I don't think there's much you can read into it.

But, if it's some dinky poll about some silly issue, than yes, I do belive that some folks answer negativly just because it gives them a cheep thrill on some level.

What gets me is that in just about any poll on any subject there will always be some percentage of "undecideds". On some complex issues I understand that people haven't formed an opionion as yet. But I'd be willing to bet money that a poll question of: "will you die, yes or no" will have some percentage of folks who just can't make up their mind.
a super volcano of ridonkulous suckitude.

I simply don't have access to a "cares about RBI" place in my psyche. There is a "mildly curious about OBI%" alcove just before the acid filled lake guarded by robot snipers with lasers which leads to the "cares about RBI" antechamber though. - Nate
