Mussina, Wang, Johnson, Wright (who had a pretty good season) < Harang, Arroyo, Milton and the merry men?

I can even see the argument for bullpen, but starting staff?

    Freel for sure. lol.

    Maybe Rich?

EdE, Dunn, Griff, B.Phil, Ross... they all seem super laid-back.

Hey SuperBarry, Kristin is going back to Broadway in "The Apple Tree" in November. She'll be co-starring with Malcolm Gets. I've heard great things.

I think I'd rather see the Yankees win the World Series than the Cards.

Well don't get your freaking hopes up. the yankees want to ensure that you have no hope left in the world.

Of all the teams in the playoffs, the Cards are the ones I'd hate to win the most. The Yankees are probably second, but I don't have the same level of hatred for the Yanks as most people, although I do have some.

Don't worry, vp. I really think the Yanks still win this series.

I don't see any way the Tigers win this series against the Yankees.

I'm not making light. This is a pain in my gut.

edit: That was not directed at you. That was just me being sad.

vp, I don't know if you were around a couple of years ago, but there's a history behind my above comment.

What is it? I am still a relative newbie.

My friend (Yankees fan born and bred) just called me distraught and said "I feel like a Braves fan."

Wright really didn't have a very good season. And while Mussina had some good peripherals, he was pretty hit-fortunate. And gave up a reasonable number of dingers. And to say Johnson had a pretty crummy season by his standards (or really by several standards) is being nice.

Wang was good, but kind of a one-trick groundball pony.

On balance, I'd say both Harang and Arroyo outpaced any pitcher on the Yankee starting staff by a respectable margin.

The truly fundamental difference in the pitching of the Reds and Yankees was Mariano Rivera.

Put Rivera on the Reds, and we're talking NLCS matchups: Reds vs. Mets.

    Rogers out, Zumaya in.

I give credit where credit is due. He was unbelievable tonight.

Kenny Rogers sure pitched himself a whale of a game tonight.

Handled baserunners very adeptly in--almost?--every inning.
