I know I wan't the only one happy to see Casey catching that final out of the ALDS, rasing his arm high in the air, and dousing the Detroit crowd in champagne.

Through all those years in Cinci, I watched Casey go nuts celebrating such little things as a simple walk-off hit or homerun, whether the season has just begun, or was statisically over. Always showing the same enthusiasm.

It sure is nice to see him finally make it to the playoffs, and celebrate something more than he ever had coming as a Red. Here's to you Sean, and go Tigers.

Personally I'd love to have Sean back in Cincinnati. I don't know how everyone else would feel about this but I'd absolutely love it.

On the other hand, I was tired of watching his slow foot speed cost us numerous ending inning double plays.

I hope they win it all and he gets a World Series ring.

The Reds have alot of problems and Casey isn't the answer.

If Casey had qualified, he would rank 140th in OPS. Feared hitters such as Nick Punto, Preston Wilson, and Jeff Conine would rank ahead of him. No thanks.

started last monday and already 3 of 4 series decided. why? because they "dont" play game 1 on monday and then wait till thursday or friday for game 2. baseball schedules their playoffs the "right way"(narron extra)

I wouldn't mind Casey in the Todd Hollandsworth role. But he can only play 1B, can't run and is no better answer at 1B than Hatty (who isn't the answer either). As the lefty PH specialist and PR guy to go to functions looking for a token player to appear OK. Any more than that, no thanks. Not sure you can devote a roster spot to that.

NBA is #3 (and even lower in places) right now because so much of what they do doesnt make sense. Playoffs is just the tip of the iceberg, everyone's noticed what has become of the "Dream Team" monicker, its getting embarrassing. Most people playing right now only care about highlight reels and bling bling. NBAs also become waterdown because everyone with an ounce of talent is telling NCAA go jump off a cliff and going pro asap when THEY ARENT READY.

Yes there was Kobe, but for every Kobe theres that idiot that Jordan drafted out of high school.

Casey only hit into 10 double plays this year in 397 at-bats, which figures into 2.5% of his at-bats. Compared to the ML leaders in GIDP, which are Tejada (4.3%, 28 DPs), V. Martinez (4.7%, 27 DPs), M. Young (3.9%, 27 DPs), T. Glaus (4.6%, 25 DPs), and P. Kernoko (4.4%, 25 DPs), Casey falls in the middle of the league.

I just get tired of hearing this argument because it is all based on the one season where Casey hit into 27 DPs. All of his other seasons, he was closer to the league average.

Also slow speed isn't the cause of most DP. The reason Sean hit so many DP a couple years ago is that he hit ground balls to the second baseman all the time.

Sean was very slow but Hatteberg makes Sean Casey look like an olympic sprinter.

Really happy for Casey and the Tigers, hoping the Reds have that same kind of story next year
