Excuse me for saying this but how many of these 3 guys do you think were promised the interim job if Charlie Gets off to another bad start?

Don't know how to do one of those polls or I would set one up.......

Philly's pretty much cornering the market on available fired managers in the 59-63 age range.

Two of the guys they replace (Bombard and Varsho) were on the Reds coaching staff at one point. Varsho was also a Reds OF in 1993 and Bombard pitched in the Reds ml system from 1971-77.

I guess Dewey and Cheatum weren't available to work with Howe.

And I had to think about Howe for a bit. For some stupid reason I was thinking, why did the Phillies hire STEVE Howe as Pitching Coach.

Sorry - the morning coffee seems strangely uncaffenated.

I thought Varsho was an outfielder.

You're right. Bombard was a pitcher and Varsho was an OF. I corrected the post.

My first thought was, I didn't know they fired Manuel.

I don't know how anyone is gonna be able to walk through that dugout and not slip and fall with all the slobbering that's gonna be going on waiting for Charlie to get fired.
"panic" only comes from having real expectations
