Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.
The game was gargantuan, an epic tussle between two juggernauts, if it were not for the effective relief pitching of the "Hawk" who only allowed six runs the Phillies would have added another triumph to their pantheon of victories
The 1-2 Cuban punch of Camilo Pascual and Pedro Ramos.

She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning
I am saddened that Deron Johnson had five hits
Yes, but remember that the Reds received those stalwarts, Mack Jones, Jim Beauchamp and Jay Ritchie for DJ.
Jay Ritchie and Jim Beauchamp were epic
I remember that game. Some relatives from another state were visiting and, before the game, I had been telling them what a great offense the Reds had. I can recall later thinking that I hoped they heard the result of this game.
The Phillies had two guys on base when the final out was made. Pete Rose made a diving catch in right field to end it, or even more runs would have been scored that day.
"Hey...Dad. Wanna Have A Catch?" Kevin Costner in "Field Of Dreams."
