    Batting coach

Reading the coaching discussion in the Red Guard section and hubby brought up someone that could be a decent batting coach--Tony Gwynn. Good guy, likeable, smart, lifetime BA of 338 and the man used to watch every one of his own taped at bats to correct and analyze his hitting. Gwynn pulled and hit to all fields, could help Dunn there.

Thoughts and Opinions? The Reds would have to lure him out of college coaching, but enough money could do it.

    Or, what about Eric Davis?

I'd like Tony Gwinn but I'm positive he'd never come to Cincinnati. But Eric Davis I would love to see him back in Cincinnati as batting coach

Gwynn does have family in Indianapolis, might not be as far fetched as you think. I still cant see why he would do it though.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

I vote no on ED, primarily because his swing is not one you want to teach others. He had a hitch, and dropped his hands very low, with a decent stride. Not saying he would teach that, but I would rather see someone who practiced what they preach.

Parker could be good. You'll never get Brett out of KC tho. :-(

Larkin will be back, in some capacity, someday soon I bet.

Narron's association with Jaramillo may be his best asset. Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! (Sorry, wrong Rudy!).

It is very unlikely that any player that made 10's of millions of dollars as a player is going to want to be a batting coach making around 100k and traveling half the year.

That BA doesn't mean a thing. If you listen to some here, we don't need a hitting instructor, we need a guy who can teach the whole team to walk.

I don't know about hitting coach, but I vote bring in Tom Emanski to help with some of his defensive drills.
