I guess that answers what we are goign to do with Bergolla.

Would anyone risk bringing in Bret Prinz?

Prinz might be worth a flyer. This may be where the RH half of the 1B platoon comes from. Lots of candidates. Some guys are still pretty young. Lots of Ex-Twins.

Here are some names to watch:

Guillermo Quiroz C 24 (Catcher with power history, bad year in 06, still young)

Matt Lecroy C/1B 31 ( Bats RH, Platoon 1B?, Ex Twin)

Jesus Colome RHP 29 (Former closer of future at TB, control issues)

    Terry Tiffee 3B/1B (RH Ex-Twin)

Joel Hanrahan RHP 25 (Former highly rated starter prospect, still young, good stats in 12 AA starts, struggled in AAA in 2006)

JR House C/1B 27 (RH, Big Power in Minors in 2006, Not a good defensive catcher, platoon 1B?)

Josh Phelps 1B 29 (RH, 17 HR in 371 Major League AB in 2004, .902 OPS and 24 HR in AAA in 2006, Platoon 1B ?)

Ryan Ludwick OF 29 (RH, Power, once highly regarded prospect, can not play CF)

Arnie Munoz LHP 25 (Still young lefty reliever, dominated at AA and below the last few years, but struggled at AAA)

Michael Restovich OF 28 (RH Power Corner OF, Ex-Twin, 27HR in 443 AB and .934 OPS in AAA in 2006)

Luis Montanez OF 25 (Played 2B and SS earlier, OPS .927 in 141 ABs in AA in 2006, struggled in AAA, possible Freel type???)

I like Phelps, House, and Restovich the best for a platoon role. Quiroz, Hanrahan, Munoz and Montanez for a possible find. Ex-Twins must be watched as well IMO.

I guess we were making a list at the same time. We have a lot of overlap. I looked at Van Buren and Sing and decided there were better options. I missed Nageotte. I would be interested in him.

Is this the same Clint Nageotte that many Redszoners wanted in a trade straight up for Aaron Boone back in the day?

I think there are definately a few guys that could make an impact in the Reds' system next year. Maybe a couple of these guys could make for cheap additions next year.

No, no please don't sign Fat Matt.

I'd take a shot with Restovich, De Los Santos, and Wunsch though.

Check out these results for Alexander Farfan. Possibly two of the worst stat lines in recent memory.

    Re: Minor League FA list

Dennis Tankersly, does anybody remember about three years ago when Ryan Freel was all but traded straight up for him? I remember someone with an inside source made a post about this, and most people thought it was an acceptable trade. I remember one response in particular saying something like "players like Ryan Freel grow on trees"
