The bottom line: their offense is totally healthy.
And yet they can't put runs accross the plate.

A totally healthy offensive juggernaut scores more than 3.9 runs a game.

Even with their health, the Cards still have the likes of Eckstein, Wilson, Molina, Miles, Edmonds (a sheel of his former self), and Duncan (I'm not convinced he's anything great) in their starting line-up. They only have 2 bats in their line-up that strike fear into anyone's heart. Granted those 2 guys are Rolen and Pujols, but that's simply not enough to be considered an offensive juggernaut.

You face the best pitchings staffs in MLB in the postseason. That's the nature of the beast. It's not all that surprising that their runs scored numbers are a bit down from the regular season.

In a sense, minus the extreme creepy and sinister factor.

Valid point. I think the Cards middle three, of Pujols, Edmonds and Rolen, when healthy, is better than anyone on Detroit and Duncan is almost as good as any IMO.

It's funny how perceptions shape things. Because Jeremy Bonderman was the one who ultimately disposed of the Yankees, I now look on him as a terrifying face of evil against whom no one will ever again hit a baseball.

I'm on my fourth beer already I think, perhaps I should slow down.
