ESPN is reporting the Bochy is leaving the Padres and going north to the Bay.
If Bochy is allowed to leave the Padres, I think it is a bad move. To me Bochy is one of the best...he gets the most out of his team.

He's been allowed. He had to have permission from the Padres in order to talk to other clubs. I'm not sure why Bochy would leave a team that just made the playoffs (granted, it is the NL West) in favor of a division rival that is in major flux. The only reason I can come up with is that the Padres told him he wouldn't be brought back after next year, so he took the guaranteed money and future employment from the Giants.Originally Posted by George Foster
