    Shannon Stewart?

Do you guys think the Reds should go after this guy? He is from Cincy, he used to play for the Twins. Good hitter and from what I seen a good defensive player as well. Since he was hurt last year we could get him cheaper than what he would on this market.

The guy has no arm and can play only LF. With Dunn set to play LF, I don't see Krivsky showing any interest in him.

Dunn has no defensive abilities whatsoever and can play first base.

If the Reds and Dunn were comfortable with Dunn playing lst base, then they wouldn't have given up on the experiment during spring training last year.

I'd love to see Shannon Stewart on the Reds...if it was 1998.

    The current version? No thanks.

Despite the popular consensus, I like Dunn's bat. Yeah he whiffs alot but who doesnt these days? And we need his bat in the lineup and the only safe "position" i could ever think to put him in is first.

of course the Reds arent comfortable with him at first, but where else is he gonna play is the point.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

Exactly. A bad 1B does a lot more damage than a bad LF.

    no

the Reds need a big bat in lf. even if we trade Dunn we need to replace him with a power hitter not a leadoff type

Tend to agree.. I felt the same way when the idea was brought up about Torri Hunter as well.. that turf has worn those players legs down. We see what turf does to a player when Junior goes down.. No thanks.

I'd rather save up for Vernon Wells.. but thats a pipe dream

    Yuk.

Too old. Too much of a defensive liability.
