I got you beat WoY, I had a whole 70 people in my class. The Columbus Catholic Diocese decided to close my school the follwoing year, so that may have a little bit to do with the lack of interest on reunions. It is now the Columbus Fire Department Training Academy.

My 10th was fun, my 15th not as fun.

What I liked about my 10th is that I got to connect with a lot of acquaintances, as opposed to friends. While I've had reason to keep in touch with friends every few years by email, I'd probably never have seen my acquaintances and not-so-close friends without the excuse of a reunion.

Never been to one. My 25th was in 2003, and I thought it might be fun to see who went to hell, but it wasn't worth it to make a 2 hour trip just for that.
I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

I graduated from high school ten years ago, but my high school is so lame that they're holding our ten-year reunion off for another year, so we're due to have our ten-year reunion eleven years on, with the class below us who will be celebrating their actual ten-year reunion. They told us all this in a letter that asked for $150 donation. I refuse to go on principle. And also because I don't remember anybody I went to high school with.

College reunions are different. My school has a big weekend every year and a ton of people go. The people I went to college with, both my friends and non-friends, mostly rule xcore so it is always a good time. And the schoo is perfectly happy with my annual $5 donation.

We had an unoffical 10 year reunion for college in 2000. About 40 people came. It was a lot of fun. Haven't been to Athens since. It's long overdue.

I didn't go to my 10th and don't plan on going to any others. All of my real friends are from college and work (including a few I went to high school with).

And I got you beat, dman... my class had only 21 people. Next year is my 30th - but I don't think there has been any reunions AT ALL. Namely because of the size but also because it was a boarding school and many of the class were not from the area. I live about 5 hours away (the school is in SE KY). It might be fun to see classmates again but maybe not since HS was probably the worst 4 years of my life - mostly of my own fault since I was a loner and didn't make friends very easily.

The last time I went to a class reunion I was treated to the sight of one of my classmates on the dance floor attempting to do the "electric slide" while using a walker. That was such a poignant metaphor for our middle age that I don't think anything I'd see at a future event could top it.

You won't believe how much the town has changed, even in the past six years. Wal-mart has put a lot of the unique uptown shops out of business. East State street has five lanes. Court Street has a stretch (near Chubb Hall) where traffic is two-way. The bartender from Tony's that looked like Eric Clapton died a few years ago. SchoolKids no longer sells music. Jefferson Hill is closed to traffic.

    Didn't go to my 5 year....my 10 year is sometime in 2008

Not sure if I'll go....there will be several factors that will lead to my decision, and distance is not one of them

(I pretty much see/talk to all the people I care to from high school)

wow. can't remember his name but I spent a lot of time in that place. IIRC, he partied quite a lot.

I see the Casa Nueva has expanded quite a lot too. I worked there from 1989-1993.

Mrs. U went to her 5th and had her car rear-ended by a drunken classmate in the parking lot. She hasn't been to any since.

I went to my 10th. Didn't particularly enjoy it. Haven't been to any since.

I went to my 15th. It was better than I expected. But I haven't been back to one since because of the distance.

Frankly, I could care less because I've maintained contact with those people I cared to do so with. I really have no interest in spending an evening with a bunch of people I really don't know and haven't spoken with for now 17 years.

If I wanted to make pointless small talk I'd make more sales calls. At least I have a chance of making some money on those.

But I know other people who love to go to their runions and do so faithfully. They really enjoy it.

    What's your take?
If you're in sales, I would think you'd want to go just for the networking opportunities. Never know where you might get some new leads.

I skipped my 10 year reunion. I was living in Chicago at the time and had lost touch with just about everyone from high school. Since then, I've moved back to the area where I went to high school and have bumped into old acquaintances. In fact, my eye doctor is a woman from my high school class. I have to say that it is nice to see people you knew way back when and know they're doing well. I will probably go to my 20 year reunion to get back in touch with people. Plus, now that I live in the area again, it will be a good opportunity to network. You never know what opportunity might present itself. As it is, I will be graduating from law school soon and I need to find a job. I hear about more job opportunities meeting people socially through "idle chitchat" than I do through the career planning and placement office.
