    3 Moves Krivsky Should Make

Here are 3 moves I'd like to see Krivsky make. Me and my brother were thinking about these today (I should credit that two of them were his idea), and I believe that they could improve our team.

Sign Jeff Suppan to a 3 year deal worth $30 million to be our #3 starter

Sign Eduardo Perez to a 1 year deal worth $1 million to platoon 1B with Hatteberg

Trade Adam Dunn to the Dodgers for Chad Billingsley and Andre Ethier

    ---------------
This gives us a lineup of:

    Versus righties:
    CF Denorfia/Freel
    1B Hatteberg
    RF Griffey
    3B Encarnacion
    LF Ethier
    C Ross
    2B Phillips
    SS Gonzalez

    Versus lefties:
    CF Denorfia/Freel
    2B Phillips
    RF Griffey
    3B Encarnacion
    LF Ethier
    1B Perez
    C Ross
    SS Gonzalez

    And a rotation of:

Harang (Sign to a LTC of 4 years $39 million)
    Arroyo
    Suppan
    Lohse/Billingsley
    Milton

    So, what do you think?

But Perez could be a nice two strike infield hit

Suppan wants more than meche got because hes better. So figure 4 yrs at 12 mill at least to get him to come to cincy. That would pretty much be worse then the milton signing. And I'd rather have kemp then either.

Look at this deal in the eyes of the Dodgers, they probably wouldn't give up CB for Dunn straight up.

    No on Suppan.

I'll take Perez. (power of tradition right?)

And that would be quite stupid of them. I understand that young pitching is valuable, but to say that the Dodgers (a huge market, win now team) would not trade Billingsley for Dunn straight up is pretty dumb.

Billingsley's 58 walks in 90 innings pitched would have me on the edge of my seat every time he pitched.

I would sign Jerome Williams, Trot Nixon, Craig Wilson and take a flyer on this young OF who has shown some promise in the minors as a hitter. Name? Rick Ankiel.

Is it just it me, or are the Dodgers pitching prospect always over hyped? As usual I have not researched this, but I remember a few hot pitching prospects a few years back that never panned out.

    2 words-AH NO!

No way do I trade Dunn in the offseason, his value is very low right now and we would be basically giving him away, wait till the deadline, packages are always better when teams are in the playoff hunt. As far as your offseason acquistions, I like Perez as the platoon guy, but no way do I sign Suppan for 10 million. I think in reality we will sign one more guy in the offseason, and we will be active in the trade market so here is my 3 moves to make, fire away if ou don't like.

1)Sign Shea Hillenbrand to play 1st base- this relegates Hatteberg to a platoon/bench player where he strengthens the overall bench. Hillenbrand then bats 5-6 in the order and drives in @80 RBI'S. We then let Votto have a full year in AAA, and he replaces Hatteberg in 08.

2)Trade Ryan Freel and Rheal Cormier to the Rangers- the Rangers are in need of bullpen help as well as OF depth, and these guys are pretty cheap players to fill those spots. We in exchange get CJ Wilson lefty reliever and prospect Jason Botts OF/1b.

3)Sign a veteran OF, who is coming off of a down year in hopes that he can regain some of his former self and then be able to flip him for prospects come the July trade deadline, cause we are going to need 4 outfielders cause we cant expect Griffey to play more than 120 games. Guys that fit this role are:
(Preston Wilson, Trot Nixon, and yes Rick Ankiel)

    Thoughts?

Re: 3 Moves Krivsky Should Make

Suppan got hot at just the right time last year for us. But look at this stats for the first half...they are not very good at all. The guy is too old to give an extended contract to. I dont think he is worth more than 8 million a year, but on this market that translates to 12-13 for 4 years. Suppan is just not worth that much money over 4 years. It would be a mistake for any team to sign him for that amount of money for that long!
