He's gonna learn a two-seam fastball and a slider as well? Nice.

I know pretty lame, I was both excited and scared at the same time. Atleast it wasn't an injury announcement. Cant find anything on the story except for this.

Despite the organization's deliberate approach to his development, top prospect RHP Homer Bailey will be in the big league rotation early in the 2007 season if he's successful at changing speeds in spring training and posts strong results early at AAA Louisville. Bailey, 20, already has a strong mid-to-high 90s fastball that overpowers minor-league hitters

He's gonna grow 8 inches taller and sport a goatee?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I'm just surprised they didn't trade him for Lee Smith.

I think the way this off season is shaping up, its becoming pretty clear that both Homer and Votto are probably penciled in for sometime during '07 in Krivsky's mind....

I guess if Homer turns out to be a strong #2 this season, we really didn't need any pitching. If he doesn't we are probably in trouble. We have a one two punch, a one two three would be great. Sure would be nice to pencil in the numbers EZ put up at the begining of the season in that four spot and let Lohse and milton fight for the fifth.
