    Drawing winner at Reds Fest?

I got a call from some type of travel agency saying they sponsored a drawing for a Chevy Avalanche that I put name in for at Reds Fest. They said I won a trip to Vegas or Orlando for 3 nights, they pay for hotel....and round trip air.

Did EVERYONE else win this? At first I just passed this off as everyother place that says I won a trip (bc doesn't everyone always win a trip to Orlando, or atleast when telemarketing was more popular).

Here's the kicker...my girlfriend got the same message and won the same prize. It wasn't a voice recording either....

    A little help. Thanks

Could it be some sort of gimmick to try to get you to sit through their spiel to buy into a timeshare at a vacation resort? I once entered a drawing at the Chicago Christkindlmarkt, got a call saying I had won either a trip, a big screen tv, or a Jeep Grand Cherokee. All I had to do was to come to some presentation where they would make a few brief statements to the "winners" and then announce who got each prize. Turned out it was this elaborate pitch to get you to buy a membership in this vacation resort deal, including a video featuring Florence Henderson and a mock-up of the interior of the first-class section of an airplane. After the presentation (they said 15 minutes but it took over an hour) they sat you down with a "consultant" to discuss what type of resort was best for you. When you turned them down, you pretty much got escorted to a tumbler filled with scratch off cards, one of which allegedly contained a card for the Jeep. Being that there were way more cards than people in attendance, I figured my chance of getting the car was slim. When I drew a card and scratched it off, I won, you guessed it, a trip to their resort in the Wisconsin Dells! All I had to do to claim the trip was to choose a weekend and attend a brief "seminar" on one of the days of my stay. I never claimed my prize. Not saying its the same thing, but it sounds familiar.

A bunch of friends and I put our names in for a drawing for some type of prize this past summer while at a concert. What the prize was, I have no idea. All I know is that the girl asking was gorgeous, asked nicely, and well ... we just couldn't say no.

Since I had zero interest in actually registering for the contest, I entered in the name Jeffrey Lebowski, with a current residence of 1 Jackie Treehorn Way, Malibu, CA with some random California sounding zip code and some random telephone number.

Anyhow, every one of my other friends who put their real names and contact information in - and there must have been over a half dozen of them - received a call saying they had won the special second place prize, which was an invitation to some high roller party with free alcohol. Needless to say, when they all found out they each had won the special second place prize and an invitation to this party, they decided they weren't going to waste their time any further.

Yeah. They do those things all the time. Anyone can get a free trip if they are willing to waste half their trip in meetings and are ready to get hassled all the time.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

I've been getting messages for the last two weeks from these people. I actually was home and asked a few questions. They "say" it's a fully paid trip except for the taxes and "all" we have to do is sit for about an hour and listen to what their company offers. The gal did say that it wasn't a timeshare thing. Uh huh....riiiiiiight. There's probably more to it than just that, but hopefully that helps.

Years ago ,on a Vegas trip, after losing most of my bankroll on the first day,my wife and I decided to take the offer from the Flamingo Hotel to check out their new timeshare condos.I dont know if it was the 2 hr break from the slots or the $40 each they gave us,but I got even right after the sales pitch.
