NJ has one of the lowest tax rates on gas in the nation. There has been much talk about raising it, however it's also seen as political suicide, and no politician has had the guts to push very far on the issue.

a lot of us don't drive much either. Although I'm not one of those you'll find riding their bike at night, in the winter, in the rain. Surprising how many do though....So I guess the only thing I can conclude is that you tree-hugging hippies in the NW tax the daylights out of gas.

As far as gas tax goes 42% here and 30% in Georgia, and we both know Georgia lags way behind the rest of the free world in limiting growth and pollution.

Or even doing a basic tuneup on your car anymore. You pop the hood - the engine is in sideways and you can't find anything. It use to be that when you looked down into the engine compartment you could see the ground underneath. Not any more.

Dog N Suds. The RB wasn't that great, but I loved their footlong coneys. They still exist in isolated locations in the midwest. Two of the original buildings exist here, but they are pizza places.

Yep, and right after they changed to the way it is now accident rates went way up from all the morons getting their feet stuck in the steering wheel.
Pretty tasty beverage, debuted during a Super Bowl IIRC with Van Halen's "Right Now" as the pitch song.
Everywhere in NJ, they pump it for you, and expect a tip.
If I can't pump my own, why the heck should I tip you for just doing your job?
