    Championship Weekend Predictions

    My wish: Colts vs. Saints.

What will happen: Patriots (Gag, yech, yuk, ugh....) vs. Bears.

Yeah, Pats vs. Bears. If you have a farm, bet it on New England. Bellicheck is too deep into Peyton's psyche, that he'll have one of his bad playoff games. And while Indy's defense matched up well with KC (who they KNEW was going to do nothing but run) and Baltimore (not very good to begin with), they have no chance at all of stopping NE's offense. The most under-rated part of the Pats team is theri O-Line. They have a great line and they protect Brady well. He's really impossible to stop given time to throw the ball. Like Peyton, he struggles quite a bit with pressure, but I don't see Indy getting a lot of pressure on him. Not only does NE win, I think they win big, such as 37-17.

In Chicago, I think it comes down to weather. NO will struggle in the cold and there's a 50% chance of snow. I'm thinking like 17-10 Chicago.

I'd love the Super Bowl to match up the Saints and the Colts. That's not how I'd bet, but that's what I am rooting for.

I am sitting back, not worrying who wins, and actually enjoying what hopefully will be a couple of very good games.

I'm pulling for the Saints and the Colts...
But I think the only one of them that have a chance is the Saints...It'll be the Saints and the Pats.

Did you happen to watch the game between these two teams earlier in the season?

Wow. That Rex Grossman sures knows how to win football games.

Yeah, I watched it mia, but this is a completely different situation. Playoff football is different, abd there ain't nobody better at coaching in the playoffs than Bellicheck. He'll have something prepared that Peyton isn't prepared for

    Re: Championship Weekend Predictions

I don't bet on sports because there's so much uncertainty. You just never know what can happen. But I was almost tempted to bet on this game. I make some bold predictions regularly, but if asked to make one single prediction that I'd stake my house on it would be the Patriots beating the Colts in the playoffs. Indy just doesn't have what it takes on the defensive side of the ball to stop a balanced and smart offense, which is exactly what NE has. And the offense after all these years still hasn't figured out the NE defense. The difference between the two teams is mostly Bellicheck against Dungy. It's no comparison.

I feel bad for Manning, because I really believe if they simply switched the QB situation the result would be the same. But all we'll hear about from the masses is Brady vs. Manning when the difference is clearly something else. Manning against Indy's defense would be ugly. They'd score 50 points. And Brady with that Indy offense going against a Bellicheck designed scheme would also be pretty ugly, IMO.

I gurantee you Indy was praying that San Diego won last week. They'd much rather be playing IN San Diego right now than home against New England.

This game was over before it started. Looks like it will be 4 out of 6 for the Patriots. That's damn impressive in this day and age.

Parity doesn't kill dynasties: Pittsburgh/Dallas, San Fran, now the Patriots.

I'm calling the Pats by two touchdowns against the Bears. NE might register a Super Bowl shut-out against Chicago.

Good God, I can't think of two teams I less want to watch in the Superbowl than the Bears and the Patriots.

    Re: Championship Weekend Predictions

They gave an interesting stat on Grossman (such an appropriate name too)....

He had 7 games during the regular season where he had a QB rating of 100%. And 5 games where it was around 40%. He's probably somewhere in between.

The Bear's defense is a machine to watch. They are going to be mixing it up and doing alot of blitzing to keep Brady under pressure. I still say the Pats would win (if they beat Indy); but it won't be a blow out... 20-13
"panic" only comes from having real expectations
