TV purposes probably in San Diego more than Cincinnati.

Those April Saturday games are gonna be ch-ch-ch-chilly.
Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.

Not related to game times, but...

    (1) I noticed that the REDS play the Astros 15 times during the season. 12 of those 15 games are played by May 31! First two months they play 12 times... last four months they play only three times. Huh? They play the Astros 12 times in their first 55 games. They play the Astros only 3 times during their last 107 games. Huh?

    (2) I noticed that the REDS play the Brewers 15 times during the season. Only 2 of those 15 games are played by July 23! First 3-1/2 months they play two times... last 2-1/2 months they play thirteen times. Huh? They play the Brewers only 2 times in their first 99 games. They play the Brewers 13 times during their last 63 games. Huh?

    (3) 18 interleague games? What the?!?! 1997 = 12 ; 1998 = 13 ; 1999 = 15 ; 2000 = 15 ; 2001 = 15 ; 2002 = 12 ; 2003 = 12 ; 2004 = 12 ; 2005 = 15 ; 2006 = 15. Now it is 18 games?!? More than 10% of regular season games are against the AL... I don't like it.

If Clemens goes to Houston, I am glad the Reds play them early. Maybe the Reds can stay healthy and win a majority of those early games.

If HOU continues their trend of starting slow, that's a very good thing.

You are right, Chip, but they did have a decent April last year (but not as good as a team from Cincinnati). The Astros were in 1st place for 17 days in April last season... 12 days they had sole possession of 1st place in April.

The Astros last saw 1st place in the entire 2006 season when the REDS knocked them out of it on April 28... which was the first time the REDS ever hung a loss on Roy Oswalt!

I liked it since I when I came home to Dayton on Sat. Night it was a sorta decent hour--closer to 10:30-11 than 11:30-12

Now, if they'd just get the printable schedule updated, I'd get one stuck to my refrigerator as a beacon of hope on these cold winter days.

Anybody have a guess as to why they'd start that game at 3:55 instead of :05 or :35? That's weird.

My guess is that is a Fox game. Usually Fox comes on at 1 and starts games at 1:25. My guess would be that week Fox is starting for some reason at 3:30 and the game is starting at 3:55.

I haven't been to a game in a couple years. Hopefully I'll make one this year.

The 6:00 Games were hot ones, when I was sitting in the bleachers. I had a few sun burns last summer.
