There are only a few items that I absolutely will not purchase another brand.

    MAC Mascara
    Perscriptives moisturizer
    Channel lipstick
    Tide detergent
    French's mustard
    Clark's shoes
    American-made automobiles
Will trade this space for a #1 starter.

Zegna uses wonderful materials for their ties, but I have found that for Italian conservatively styled men's ties, Brioni is preferable.
Personally, I end up buying mostly Brooks Bros. ties - on one of their frequent markdown sales. They're not as nice as the Zegna and Brioni ties, but they're more durable, in my opinion, and they're heavier - and Dad wore 'em, so you know how they'll look when they (and you) get older.

Just a few off the top of my head:

    Crest toothpaste
    Old Spice deodarant
American Eagle (many of my clothes, obviously many others)
    Nike (shoes and athletic shorts)

Other than those, I'm pretty open. For electronics especially I will purchase brand names but which one varies on reviews and what I think.
