ESPN SportsNation: Build Your Ideal Lineup

While the choose for each spot are narrowed, I thought this would be a fun topic to kick around.

I'll post mine when I'm done voting.

Re: ESPN SportsNation: Build Your Ideal Lineup

Well you can only vote for one player on each question which is kind of silly.

Anyway out of the options given make your own lineup with no DH. Remember to one player at each position.

    1) Who would be your ideal No. 1 or No. 2 hitter?

    Ichiro Suzuki
    Kevin Youkilis
    Derek Jeter
    Grady Sizemore
    Chase Utley
    Jose Reyes
    Carl Crawford
    Alfonso Soriano

    2) Who would be your ideal No. 3 or No. 4 hitter?

    David Ortiz
    Miguel Cabrera
    Albert Pujols
    Manny Ramirez
    Ryan Howard
    Travis Hafner
    Alex Rodriguez
    Joe Mauer

    3) Who would be your ideal No. 5 or No. 6 hitter?

    Adam Dunn
    Justin Morneau
    J.D. Drew
    Carlos Guillen
    David Wright
    Brad Hawpe
    Aaron Rowand
    Lyle Overbay

    4) Who would be your ideal No. 7, No. 8, or No. 9 hitter?

    Nick Markakis
    Matt Murton
    Xavier Nady
    Melky Cabrera
    Josh Barfield
    Kenji Johjima
    Ian Kinsler
    Benji Molina

Considering Pujols, Morneau and Howard all play 1B you can only have one. I prefer Howard over Pujols since frankly I can't stand the Cards.

    Man, this is tough:

    Jeter, SS
    Sizemore, CF
    Manny, LF
    Pujols, 1B
    Wright, 3B
    Guillen, 2B
    Murton, RF
    Johjima, C

Mauer being so superior at C makes it tough to pass on him, but I'd rather Manny & Johjima over Mauer & Markakis.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
