    Who knows...

Seriously, the talent that was here wasn't very good, so it's tough to tell for sure. I wouldn't expect him to be as good as the last one they had.

I think his D here was known for its attacking philosophy and risk taking. Sometimes it worked, but a lot of times it gave up the big play. I think Marvin fired him over philosophical issues, as I think Marvin is a more conservative "play your assignment" type coach.

I've just come off about 6 consecutive seasons of pain, I've got a pretty steep threshold for ineptitude.

From what i remember Leslie was highly regarded and it came as a shock to the NFL community that Marvin fired him. They just had different systems, and Marvin wanted someone who followed his defensive plans better. Leslie only had one season here, so it's hard to tell any results he created. He coached at Indy so obviously he has to be decent.

Frazier had one of the coolest interceptions I've ever seen back in his playing days. It was the Bears vs. the Raiders and he leapt over the receiver's back (might have been the TE, Todd Christensen), reached down and snagged the ball.
    I'm not a system player. I am a system.

Leslie was here for two seasons. From everything I've heard, his defensive philosophy (along the lines of Jim Johnson, who he coached under in Philly) was completely different than Marvin's, which is why I've always wondered why he was hired in the first place.

One season, two seasons... what the heck, they all run together after awhile. This season we were lucky enough that the players helped us out by being arrested whenever the next month started. Anyway, their styles were definitely different. I wonder how much of his being hired had to do with the FO rather than Marvin himself. They definitely didn't mesh, but that didn't make him a bad D-Co. As far as philosophies, it seems like Marvin prefers athletic types who are versatile which has led to smaller, faster players, other than Sam Adams. That more than anything seems to have hurt the run defense on the team. Just my opinion though.
