Mega Millions will be 267 (or is it 276?) million on Friday. Do you play? And what would you do with that much money? After taxes, of course.
Yes, every week.
No, never! What a waste of money!
If it gets high enough, I'll spend a couple bucks.
I'll join in if we have a pool at work to buy tickets.
Who needs that money, I'm rich in other ways (I have RedsZone).
Life is enough of a lottery for me, baby.

Will trade this space for a #1 starter.
Here's how a mathematician friend of mine describes the lottery (lotto, to be more exact): "Your chances of winning are the same, whether you purchase a ticket or not."
I don't play the lottery, mainly for the same reason. And I don't go to casinos either, but I have thrown a handful of twenty dollar bills off the Suspension Bridge, which was probably just about as much fun.
Next Reds manager, second shooter. --Confirmed on Redszone.
I play about 5 or 6 times a year, cause that is about as often as I can remember to buy a ticket.
Down the road about two miles there is a nice house that sits up on a hill. It was built by a local family who won 16 mil a few years ago. So real people do win. Sometimes.
We go to a casino every couple years. My limit it $40. Yeah, I'm a big spender. Once I won $600. And a few months ago I went while on a business trip. I spent $20 and walked out 45 minutes later with $300.
If I ever won the lottery I would share with my family, then give some friends some money, then buy four Diamond seats every season between now and when I die.

My office does a lotto pool when it gets up around $150M-ish. I can't not chip in on the off-chance we hit. I'd kill myself if I was that one guy who didn't join the pot as they all quit their jobs.
I used to buy about $5 worth of tickets for the Super Lotto whenever it got to $20M or more. I figure if I'm going to win, it ought to be a significant amount. Don't want to waste my winning on a $1M ticket
But I haven't played in a couple years now. I'm not sure why. I'm not even sure where to buy Mega Millions tickets.
The way I looked at it, I was paying $5 for the entertainment value of that one 5-10 seconds moment when I looked up the winning numbers and thought "you never know".
I figured $5 for that 5-10 second rush was better than smoking crack.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning
I play every now and then. I always buy one ticket.
I figure that the only way I'll win is with God's intervention. And that should only take one ticket. Buying more would be an insult.

That's kinda my theory, too, RFS62.
Nope. I think of all that money I have saved since it's inception.
And since studies have shown you have a better chance of getting hit by lightning then winning the lotto, I'm not taking any chances.

Your odds wouldn't be much different if you'd never been born.

I play when it gets high(thanks for reminding me, I'll have to get a ticket later lol).
Spending a buck or two here and there for the chance to win millions is worth it to me.
If I won, RedsZone would probably get its largest ever donation.
Megamillions jackpot on Fri night: $267 million.

If you take the cash option - which you always should - and assume you clear 40%, that's about $107 million.
That would be a pretty sweet return on a $1 ticket.
I'd buy an island ..... and a boat. I'd never see anyone again.

$107 million - id be buying some properties around the U.S. primarily in warm climate areas, along with some nice cars and by nice I mean ferrari/lamborghini.

Nope, waste of money.
Go Gators!
My father calls the lottery, and I quote, "a tax on stupidity."
No offense intended. I don't play, myself. That's beer money.
"It's easier to give up. I'm not a very vocal player. I lead by example. I take the attitude that I've got to go out and do it. Because of who I am, I've got to give everything I've got to come back."
