    What would you bring

Lets say you were going to be placed on a deserted island for 6 months. The island has a hut that has all the basics we are used to (don't ask how, it just does). A stove/oven, a refriderator, freezer, a BBQ and six months worth of coals if u needed, electricity, a TV, a stereo, a DVD player. But thats everything. No people. No radio signal. Nothing else.

This is what you get to bring on the island with you:

    1. one meal - you can have a meat and a vegtable but it will be the same everyday for six months. For instance, if you bring steak and potato thats what you will be having for six months.

    2. one drink besides water. Again, you'll have it every day and only it (besides water) every day.

    3. one movie

    4. One box set of any TV show. Any show, the entire run thats out. So if you bring MASH you'll bring the entire run thats out on DVD.

    5. One CD

    6. One book

    7. Any one other item of your choice. Cannot be a person. Cannot be any of the first 6 on this list. For instance, you cannot bring a second movie.

    So, what do you bring?

    Re: What would you bring

    My answers:

    1. chicken and potatoes. I would rather bring steak, but chicken has more variety. I could bake it, fry it, BBQ it and all will have different tastes. Steak is steak, plus you don't bake a steak.

    2. beer. Coors Light.

    3. Shaun of the Dead - i could watch that over and over and still love it.

    4. The Sopranos.

    5. Guns N Roses Appetite for Destruction

    6. The most recent Baseball Enclyopedia.

    7. My golf clubs. That way I could hit balls around the island and then finding them would be another game.

    Re: What would you bring

    My answers:

    1. Filet Mignon and Steak Fries. When I got off the island, I'd diet. While I'm on the island, though, I'm eatin' my two favorite things.

    2. Agree with Puffy, Coors Light.

    3. Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. No movie makes me laugh and puts me in a happier mood than that one.

    4. South Park. After watching I'd amuse myself by talking like various characters (outloud, to myself). Like yelling "Achtung" in Cartman's voice at absolutely no one, being drunk and laughing at myself about it. Good times.

    5. Paul Simon - Graceland. Would keep me calm, and thinking. Always does.

    6. I'd probably have time to read the Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract I've been meaning to make time for.

    7. I would probably also agree that this would be a good time to bring the golf clubs. Maybe a picture of my family instead, though. Ahh, we'll stick with the golf clubs, they can double as weapons in case there are any animals on the island I need to defend myself from, or hunt

    Re: What would you bring

    1. one meal - Spicy Chicken from OK Wok! I think I could eat that endlessly without getting tired of it. Plus a good mix of chicken, veggies, and flavor.

    2. one drink besides water. - Red Stripe.

    3. one movie - Strange Brew, assuming I cannot have the Ken Burns Baseball documentary (if I can, then that!)

    4. One box set of any TV show. - MASH (it is a comfort thing stemming back to when my Mom and I used to stay of late watching the reruns at 11:30 when I was in high school.

    5. One CD - Jimmy Buffett "A1A"

    6. One book - knowing I'd be coming back, I'd choose to reread "That Dark and Bloody River" by Allan Eckert

I was actually quite proud of Puffy for choosing his golf clubs over his Little Bo Peep costume. Progress. He's making progress.

    Re: What would you bring

    1. one meal - Shrimp fried rice

    2. one drink besides water- Jack Daniels... I will not remember these horrible 6 months of isolation

    3. one movie- Grandma's Boy, makes me laugh every time

    4. One box set of any TV show- Seinfeld, mainly because it has so many seasons out. If I had to choose another it'd be Scrubs.

    5. One CD- Tough call, can it be a mixtape?

    6. One book- The Bible, I've always said I'd like to sit and read it all the way through. I think being stuck on an island would finally give me an excuse to do so.

    7. Any one other item of your choice. Cannot be a person. Cannot be any of the first 6 on this list.- Pictures of Pat Summitt in a cheerleaders outfit

    Re: What would you bring

    1. one meal - There really isn't a meal that I can see myself stomaching for six consecutive months, but if I had to pick one I'd probably say doro wot (an Ethiopian dish equivalent to barbecue chicken, but spicier), with a side order of potatoes and lentils.

Likely one of the stranger ones you'll see here, but there's an Ethiopian place a couple of bloacks from our place and the food is spectacular.

    2. one drink besides water - Strongbow Cider.

    3. one movie - Field of Dreams

    4. One box set of any TV show - The West Wing

    5. One CD - Forever Delayed - The Best of the Manic Street Preachers

    6. One book - A People's History of the United States

    7. Any one other item of your choice - My drums

    3. Lonesome Dove

    4. I wouldn't take any TV box sets (I loathe television). I'd prefer a computer with internet access.

    Re: What would you bring

    1. Steak (Rib-Eye) and eggs, potatoes, brocolli, and Graeter's Double Chocolate chip ice cream. I'd be fat, but happy.
    2. Beer - Burning River Ale by Great Lakes Brewery. This was close as I almost chose coffee. I love coffee, but if I was on an island I'd need some beer.
    3. Dumb and Dumber
