Yeah. It's a great song but it's just better on there with Johnny Winter yelping in the background. It's got more of an electric feel to it. I think the tempo is a shade quicker than the other versions. He does a really good one on The Last Waltz. It starts off slow but by the end it's really cooking.
I think Crowded House is one of those truly underappreciated bands. I love Better Be Home Soon, Can't Carry On, Distant Sun, She Goes On, Chocolate Cake, Weather With You, even Something So Strong. Saw them in concert in the early 90s - great show.

They're one of my all-time favorites. Did you know they have recently re-formed? They have a new album + tour on the horizon, which is particularly exciting for me as I got into them too late to have any home of ever seeing them live.
Also, the "Farewell to the World" DVD (now ironically titled) which came out last year is exemplary. I highly recommend it.

I always wanted to see them live. One of my friends did and I remember him telling me that they were great, but the crowd was the nerdiest group of guys he had ever seen. I believe the phrase "collared shirts" was used.
Whispers and Moans was given consideration for my Top 16. But I don't like the end where he gets all shouty, totally ruins the last part of the song. Lame.
