    Metalist

Top 10 favorites that others have mentioned in this thread

Elastica - Elastica (Justine Frischman affects me in indecent ways)
Beatie Boys - License to Ill (great litmus test album in the '80s, people who liked were capable of having fun, people who didn't weren't)
The Cars - The Cars (almost a perfect album)
Black Flag - Damaged (THE definitive American hardcore record, used to be in a band that covered "Rise Above")
Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True (hard to choose between this and "This Year's Model", the guitar riff at in "Miracle Man" puts this one over the top for me)
Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies (makes me feel guilty that I don't drink more)
Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Rust Never Sleeps (or, how I learned to love distortion)
Talking Heads - Little Creatures (the first side of the album was good, the second side was glorious, if only they had released it a month earlier so I could have listened to "Road to Nowhere" during my high school graduation)
Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz (forget about all those Black Sabbath dirges, Ozzy came out rocking in his first solo album, there's still radio stations in central Maine where you can hear "Steal Away" played on the radio)
Archers of Loaf - Icky Mettle (little known fact, this album was played as background music for Entertainment Tonight at various points during the mid-90s, now that is subversive)

Would have had to go with Chemical Brothers if someone had picked "Dig Your Own Hole" and Husker Du if someone had picked "New Day Rising".

"The New Style" is one of the best rap songs ever. Twenty years ahead of its time.

I was getting too much work done so I decided to try this again. I tried REALLY REALLY HARD TO GET IT TO TEN OK GUYS but I had to cut out jazz and blues to do it.

    Ok Computer - Radiohead
Is This It - The Strokes
In It For the Money - Supergrass
Below the Branches - Kelley Stoltz
    Rubber Soul - The Beatles
    London Calling - The Clash
    Nebraska - Bruce Springsteen
Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys
    Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco
Live at Folsom Prison - Johnny Cash

I'd be happy to post that top 50 list though. There's a place where you can do it with pretty pictures -- frazy.com
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

Good lists, but all of you are wrong, unfortunately.

So, here is the CORRECT answer to the all-time Top 10 albums:

Note** I am not including "best of's" or live performances, in which case this list would be very different-- just studio albums.

    10. Pearl Jam- Ten
    9. Smashing Pumpkins- Bullet w/ Butterfly Wings
    8. For Squirrels- Example
    7. Dave Matthews Band- Crash
    6. Phish- Hoist
    5. Dave Matthews Band- Busted Stuff
    4. Blues Traveler- Traveler and Thieves
    3. Weezer- The Blue Album
    2. Dave Matthews Band- Under the Table and Dreaming
    1. Dave Matthews Band- Before These Crowded Streets

I really like the song Mighty KC by For Squirrels.
Great band. Two members (singer and bass player) were killed in a car crash shortly after this album got somewhat popular. Had the makings of a pretty good band-- they managed to produce one great album. "Mighty KC" is about Curt Kobain....FYI.

Yeah, I remember that. Very sad.
