I was actually considering putting a *don't vote for Cy Young* disclaimer, as I think it's a given with the landscape of the game that one is untouchable.
Even more impossible is Cy Youngs record 316 losses. A pitcher would have to lose 20 games every season for 16 years to break that record!
Maybe not the most unlikely to get broken, but very doubtful:

I could see that getting broke. But how about this one: Georgia Tech over Cumberland 222-0.

Actually Nolan Ryan came pretty close, racking up 292 losses. Phil Neikro made it to 274.

Will White's 75 complete games while pitching for Cincinnati in the 1879 season looks like a fairly safe record to me. He won 43 games that season as well-just ask RFS62, who I believe was in attendance for most of them.
Note--I believe the "RFS62" stands for "Reds Fan Since 1862"; I know, I know, the Reds were formed as an all professional team in 1869, but cut the guy some slack.

Hopefully Bonds gets indicted and he has to quit 21 homeruns into the season and that record becomes the hardest to break.
If he does get it, then I'm really going to become an A-Rod fan, I tell ya. He needs to hit 50 a year for the next decade.
I say Ripken's streak will never be broken, for the simple fact that it isn't necessary to play every single game for 20 years.
That, and the fact that luck played a huge part in Ripken's streak.
