    Closer

If you had to choose a closer from our current players who would it be?

    David Wheathers
    Mike Stanton
    Bill Bray
    Kerry Litenberg
    Dustin Hermanson
    Todd Coffey
    Homer Bailey

Bailey could be interesting with his stuff he could be a dominant closer.

    Bailey for closer :deadhorse

I would like to see Lightenburg (I haven'nt seen any reports to his velocity as of yet though) if he is throwing above 90.

More than likely we see Stanton and Weathers for SO

    Re: Closer

The Reds are definitely going to start the season with Stanton and Weathers sharing the closer role. Coffey could end up with the job at some point during the season, unless Guardado actually comes back healthy.

I think Salmon deserves to have his name listed somewhere there as well. He's a long shot, but from the way it sounds, he has a good arm.

I really hope Herm shows he can do it, that would set up our pen nicely... However, besides that I feel like it's anyones job to win or lose until Eddie comes back healthy....

Hermanson, he's been there, and supposedly has a "unhittable" pitch.

    Re: Closer

I agree with the Weathers and Stanton duo early in the season. However, I believe the organization is counting on Hermanson. If he proves to be healthy, I think he will be the man to get the ball at the end of the game.

I would like to see Lohse in the mix, I think he could be an effective closer.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

Just a question, and I'm not sure I have an answer or opinion on the matter myself yet, but....

What difference would a legitimate closer make for the 2007 Reds?

I think the difference is 72 wins instead of 64.

Without a legitimate closer I only see this team between 72 and 77 wins.

Sadly, I don't see that number cracking the good side of 80 with a legitimate closer.
