    Re: 3/8 Reds-Tigers Lineups

Fay now talking about the improved D up the middle with Alex G and Phillips.

Vance Wilson now up for Detroit.

Fay, if had to guess at this point, says that Saarloos has to the favorite for the fifth spot in the rotation at this point.

Vance Wilson homers. Now 6-1 Tigers.

Razor, no word from them on how Gosling is looking, and no word on his velocity. General team chatter mostly, with the game unfolding around them, if you follow me...

Oooh, sorry, Razor, you meant Wilson. No, nothing about velocity. Just that he has to "be better". I think we all agree with that.

I'm sorry I meant Wilson, but don't worry about.

Then again, my fastball tops out about 51 nowadays, and I have as good a shot as touching 90 at this point as Paul Wilson does.

    Foul out ends the inning.

    Inning over. 6-1 Tigers.

John Fay leaves the booth. Why is he called "the bank president"?

Last night Marty said he was around 87-88 on the gun his first outing and less than that against the Phils.

Wow. That's 7 or 8 mph faster than I would have guessed.

Not quite sure. Perhaps because he takes quite a bit of time off. Of course, if Marc is the Godfather and Trent is the Consigliere, Fay should probably be Fredo.

Because, judging by his effort, he's the best at putting in "banker's hours?"

Marty gave Fay the nickname "The Bank President" because he claims that Fay never works the weekends...like a bank president.

    Thanks for doing the pbp

Bottom of the sixth underway, four pitches apparently occur before Stewart mentions it, Ledezma still pitching, 2-2 count on EE.

It also should be aptly noted that when Fay takes time off, the Reds beat coverage from the Enquirer temporarily improves for a few days.

Then Fay returns, and the Enquirer's Reds coverage goes back to crap.

Dunn singles to right center, EE to second.
