Im guessing Obispo is still having visa problems because of that scam he was involved in. For the most part ive given up on ever seeing him over here. If he pops up one day then ill get excited but im not holding onto hope. There was an article on here about how visa problems for althletes and entertainers was going to be fixed by congress and im not sure if that has went through yet but if it has then that is all the more reason to think he wont make it over if he cant get a visa with lighter restrictions.
I hope that Wirfin makes it over here this year. His numbers in the DSL league last year were incredible. I've emailed Hal, John Fay, and C. Trent in the last couple of days asking them if they knew whether or not Wirfin would pitch in the States this year, still no response from any of them.
Baseball America said that the odds of seeing him here are not very good becuase the US Govt doesnt look very well upon those who try and cheat them.

There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.
Allegedly when Wifrin made it to US previously he entered into a sham marriage so that the "wife" could get a visa to the US. He is now flagged by the INS which means he is having problems getting his visa this time around. I think Marc had an article on it last year.
I think Wirfin is a Reds pipe dream. Thanks to his legal indiscretions, I highly doubt he ever sets foot on a Reds field on American Soil.
So any news on Valiquette? I saw him pitch in early 05 and I was impressed. Is he back in camp?
He didn't show up for Spring Training.
