    Beware The Ides Of March

    That is all.
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

Makes me think of the opening instrumental track on...

This cover is not near as threatening as the one above, but how can anything be more dangerous than that?!?

Hey they got their arms folded & everything....just look at the poor guitar that they shot and mounted above the fireplace. They are your vehicle baby.

And the one wearing the specs looks intimidating with his right thumb in his back pocket! Hate to meet up with him in a dark alley late at night. The matching courdoroy, vest, belt outfits is vogue. And that demon on the right... he must be the stud. LSD... lead singer disease. He gets to wear top flight clothes and get the babes during the afterhours party after performing an encore of "I'm Gonna Say My Prayers". He also looks a lot like Jimmy Page!

Not to mention that the drum is in the fireplace!

Probably don't want to know whose ashes are in the urns in the background.

    Maybe it's the drummer.

Re: Beware The Ides Of March

If I'm not mistaken, one of the Ides of march is Jim Peterik, a founding membr of the band Survivor, and who also co-wrote "Eye of the Tiger" and other hits by the Chicago based band.

I could be wrong, but I remember reading that somewhere.

Also- Peterik wrote the Ides one big hit (Wheels? Or some car related thing maybe?) about a girl he wanted but couldn't date. Apparently she found out about the song and they ended up getting married. Possibly still together today.

There has to be an award for useless knowledge, doesn't there?

If I had to guess, I'd say Peterik is the third one from the left.

Alright, so the song was called "Vehicle." You all probably knew that.

    This from Wikipedia:

He (Peterik) also began a career of writing collaborations, which resulted in many platinum hits for other artists; most notably "Hold On Loosely", "Rockin’ Into The Night", "Fantasy Girl" and "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys" for .38 Special and "Heavy Metal" for Sammy Hagar.

As mentioned elsewhere, I spent the Ides of March teaching Macbeth. That didn't feel right.

To prove to everyone that irony is still alive in well, The Ides of March also recorded a song called "One Hit Wonder."
They also have a song called Symphony for Eleanor - yes, an almost 10 minute version of The Beatles Eleanor Rigby. I am about three minutes into it, and am finding myself in the midst of some of the most painful moments of my life. It's kind of sounds like the Fifth Dimension got together with some teens who thought they were The Doors and Iron Butterfly; plus the brass section from Chicago and decided to anally brutalize a true classic.
Apologies if I sound too blunt...but you guys seriously have to take a listen to it.

Could have been worse. Could have been Julius Caeser.

Yeah I was reading about him the other day. Pretty impressive career he made from himself. By the way, in the video for Vehicle he was wearing glasses, so I'd guess he was the one wearing them in this pic too. He was the guitarist & singer on Vehicle and played keys for survivor.
