Hey all, after reaidng through the post of how to break in a new glove, I was speaking with a buddy in the UK, and he wants to get a glove-said he cnat find any over there, and has never played baseball. he was asking what kind he should get, I have looked a t afew things, but the last few I have bought have been more high end, he wants a basic good start glove just to play catch with, learn the game a little, doesnt want to spend over $70 really. Any suggestions from anyone?
Sorry, I knwo this isnt Reds realted, but I figured its a love of baseball thing, and this is my baseball place, so thought would come here first to get others ideas. Besides, as Reds fans, dont we know all that is baseball?
The Wilson A700 is a nice starter glove. It's not quite as nice as the A2K series, but it comes soft and had a nice deep pocket. Mizuno also makes some nice mid range gloves (Franchise, Vintage models for example). I have a Mizuno Franchise that I've been using for 2 years. It's durable, comfortable, has a deep pocket, and was easy to break in. I think I paid $50 for it 2 years ago.

I'm a big fan of Rawlings fielders gloves overall (I'm assuming he doesn't want a catcher's mitt or 1st baseman's glove), and like their "entry" level series. It's called the Player Preferred Series.

Price range falls in line with what he wants to spend. Good glove. This one is a 13" model. That would work if he wants a bigger glove. I think my infielder's glove is a 10.5" model, although I could be wrong. It's been awhile since I last looked at the size.
Generally, I think infielders gloves are between 9.5"-11.5", Pitcher gloves are between 11"-13" and OF gloves are typically bigger than 12.5", just as a guideline.
