I hate to pick against Tiger but I'm going with Goosen.

    That course looks really tough.

    Also:
    Tiger
    Monty
    Furyk
    Cink

I'm going to go ahead and pick Oakmont. There will be no winners this weekend, only players who lose the least.

The guy who does the pairings has a great sense of humor. I love that stuff.

Anyway, I'll go with the "Upset Special" fivesome:

    Shingo Katayama
    Zach Johnson
    Trevor Immlelman
    Camilo Villegas
Brandt Snedeker -- former Commodore -- darn right I'm a homer!

BTW, David Howell is out with an injury. Luke List (another former Commodore) has replaced him.
When all is said and done more is said than done.

More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.

Mickelson doesn't see Saturday in the tourney field, via either stellar play or reinjuring the wrist.

    Re: US Open Pool

Hmm...now that it's rained, the course has lost a few teeth. But the rough is still going to be US Open rough. I'm trying to think of guys who stay in the fairway and who can get out of the rough. Tiger can be all over the place, but his ability to pull a rabbit out of the hat keeps him high on my list.
But who knows, I'd love to see that 21 year old kid come out and place high. Wouldn't that be fun to watch?

If Lefty isn't there on the weekend it will be because of his wrist. His US Open track record is spectacular. With his short game, a healthy Lefty would not only be there on the weekend, but on the first page of the leaderboard.

    Re: US Open Pool

I didn't put him up there because I saw pics of him with it bandaged during the week. And since it's a wrist thing I have a hard time seeing him playing the Open well, especially since he hurt it originally at Oakmont.

Oakmont is eating players today...and it's still early. Look for the putting to fall apart this afternoon.

Tiger seems to be striking the ball much better today. -1 through 3. Looks like he's going to make a run.
