    Reds Release Paul Wilson

FT. MYERS, Fla. -- Reds released Paul Wilson this morning. Paul's one of the good guys in the game and hope he can continue pitching somewhere. Heck, he's gotta be better than some of the stiffs on the Nationals' staff. Still, it's not much of a surprise.
Paul deserves thanks for all he's given to this organization.

    Good luck, Paul!

...but seriously, I hope he finds success somewhere.

I don't dislike the man... just the pitching.

It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

I agree. I will never question the man for his efforts. He gave 100% at all times and for that I am appreciative. I hope he finds success somewhere if that is what he is looking for - to prolong his career. Having said that, I think the writing was on the wall that he would not make this year's team. Best of luck to him in the future and I thank him for his effort, leadership, and hard work.

I believe Harang credited Wilson for inspiring him to take his conditioning seriously. Character matters. I hope he finds a way to fulfill his continued desire to compete. Wouldn't mind seeing him back in the organization as a coach someday.

good luck to Paul Wilson...a good guy, and a tough competitor. I hope he catches on, and can continue to rehab.

I'm glad he's not pitching for the Reds this year, with his arm as it is know, but more players on this team could use a heart like his, IMO.

Interesting - it was rather recently he was considered one of the pitchers who might make the opening day roster. I guess it was not to be.
I hope he has luck in finding another team to play with, and has some success.

    Just not against the Reds.

Good luck Mr. Wilson. Talk about a guy who had to come full circle........from 1st round draft pick, sure fire can't miss prospect with the Mets, to battling back from a couple of arm surgeries. If he can't catch on somewhere I'd love to see him as the pitching coach of Billings or Dayton.

Don't be surprised to see it happen, maybe not the Opening Day starter but in their rotation at least.

I guess he's taking Womack's roster spot since Womack was released?

Good. Glad that Wilson was given a last shot with the team, to honor his effort etc., glad that they didn't let the kindness linger to affect their season...

He'd probably be their #3 man. Their rotation is horrible.
