    Louisville game reports from 3-28 and 3-29

    Bats Defeat Indians 8-4
    Louisville Bats

    Sarasota, FL - The Louisville Bats defeated the Indianapolis Indians 8-4 on Wednesday afternoon to improve their Spring Training record to 7-5-1.

    Phil Dumatrait started for the Bats and went five innings, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out three. Jason Kershner allowed two runs on four hits in two innings of work and Brad Salmon pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

    Scott Hatteberg, down from the Cincinnati Reds, went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Earl Snyder was 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and Mark Bellhorn was 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI for the victorious Bats.

    Louisville will take on the Norfolk Tides Thursday in Sarasota beginning at 1:00pm.

    Louisville Bats

    Sarasota, FL - The Louisville Bats defeated the Norfolk Tides, 4-3, to improve to 8-5-1 in Spring Training.

    Bats starter Michael Gosling turned in a solid performance, allowing one run on three hits. He struck out six Tides batters in five innings. Ricky Stone, Brian Shackelford and Wes Wilkerson combined to pitch four innings of relief for the Bats.

    Mark Bellhorn led the way for Louisville hitters, going 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Bubba Crosby went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI and Tyrell Godwin went 2-for-3 with a double.

    Louisville takes on the Indianapolis Indians Friday afternoon at Pirate City in Bradenton. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.

    Yep, same goes for Brad Salmon. Every time I read one of these reports it seems like Salmon is always throwing a 1-2-3 inning.

    Why was Hatteberg playing in a AAA game? Any reason for that?

    He was out with a sore groin for a few games, Reds probably wanted him to get some AB's in.
