I remember reading 30 years ago, that rockstars like Richards, and also Clapton, use to get either their blood cleaned or replaced to get off smack. Of course they would then get hooked again.

It was a "Joke" he really didn't do it.Someone should have told Keith that everything you ingest you sooner or later pass. Way to pay homage to your Dad guy.
Hard to realize that from his original comments, which everyone thought was true. But why not believe it's not inconceivable when it involves Keith Richards getting high. The guy is the original "Ajax lady".:
