It is all part of the power of tradition! Mr. Redlegs looks very much like Mr. Red or Mr. Redlegs or whatever they called him back then looked like in the late '50's and early 60's when I was a kid. I noticed yesterday that the logo on the backstop looked even more like the former rendition than the live mascot does.
I think what happend was that when the late 60's and early 70's came around, the powers to be thought our hero looked too much like a hippie or counter culture type (they do teach you young guys about such things I hope) so (to continue the theme) he had to go underground for a few years. Then when he resurfaced he had cleaned up his act and turned into the respectable, dull, middle class Mr. Red.

I like the running man Mr. Red a whole lot better than Mr. Redlegs. WOW. Out of all the things that they have changed, Mr. Redlegs could be the worst.
"My mission is to be the ray of hope, the guy who stands out there on that beautiful field and owns up to his mistakes and lets people know it's never completely hopeless, no matter how bad it seems at the time. I have a platform and a message, and now I go to bed at night, sober and happy, praying I can be a good messenger." -Josh Hamilton
I like this guy. He is the MR. Red that I grew up with.
He looks a little wired, but I like it. The old Mr. Red was pitiful.

That's the first time I've seen the new Mr. Red.
The dude looks like he just pulled that bat out from where the sun don't shine.
Next Reds manager, second shooter. --Confirmed on Redszone.
He wont be smiling for long. Miltons going to deposit him into the right field bleachers
Witty signature.
So, let's bring in Rosie Red (looking like Angelina Jolie or not) and have a real live Mr Reds Race. Gapper can play the part of Randall Simon and take out someone different every day.
Or, even better, a lucky fan can play Randall Simon and take out Gapper every day.
I'm just like everybody else. I have two arms, two legs and 4,000 hits."

I like "Old Red." Always liked the running man logo, but the mascot always looked second rate.
when I saw him I thought we had hired Tim Foli as a bench coach!
Hoping for another Reds October
I hope he travels to Shea and takes out this poser:
