Minor League ball may be coming to Southwest KY

I'm sure every medium size town in America has considered bringing Minor League A ball to their town, but here's an article from Bowling Green, KY...

This one may be promising. I always thought Dayton was the typical size town for A ball, and figured Bowling Green could never field a team. Then I realized Dayton is actually bigger than many AA teams and probably some AAA.

I'll still believe this team in BG when I see it.

Sounds like this guy is pretty solid.

I live in Bowling Green and would love to see minor league baseball take residence here. However, this is the same group of people who tried to lure a minor league team here in 2005. The plan was to use the current baseball stadium located at Western Kentucky University during the first season (with a few improvements to the facility promised up front). After that, a new stadium was to be built on the same property that they are proposing for this stadium. The deal breaker back then was the inability to secure 2,000 season ticket holders. I recall that they came within 70% or so, but couldn't seal the deal. I think that if the new deal does happen, it will be the 'cool' thing in town until the newness wears off and then it will just fade into obscurity and get lost in the usual hubbub of the events related to the Corvette museum/factory, Beech Bend raceway and WKU that bring in all of the money to the city. I would be very pleased though if I had to eat my words.

Dayton is a pretty huge town for Low A-ball, especially. I'd say it's closer to the size of an AA or even an AAA city.
