The Nashville Sounds, which used to be the Reds AAA affiliate, may soon be on the chopping block. The Sounds had a rich history with the Reds, and their falling apart Greer Stadium still adorns many pictures of former players such as Rob Dibble.

The cliff notes version is this:
They actually passed all the ordinances, etc. through city government, and all the red tape, for a new downtown stadium. They had been working on this deal since 2002. After losing a number of major league affiliates through the years, over inadequate facilities they signed with the Brewers. With the agreement that a new stadium would be in place within 3 years.
Long story short, the Sounds and the stadium developers are butting heads and now the 11th hour is approaching.
