    4/6/07: Reds vs Pirates

    ****

EDIT: Whoever made the same thread (but with the wrong date), I beat you to it!

    Reds lineup vs. Pirates

    1. Freel, CF
    2. Phillips, 2B
    3. Dunn, LF
    4. Encarnacion, 3B
    5. Griffey Jr., RF
    6. Conine, 1B
    7. Gonzalez, SS
    8. Ross, C
    9. Belisle, RHP

Well, it's fitting that I start this thread! Get it done Reds, I don't want to hear it from the coworkers if the Pirates win. I've heard enough about them being 3-0 already, haha. People up here are freaking out that they've actually made some media exposure due to the good start.

Any chance this game gets snowed out? Weather.com says it's snowing right now, and there will be snow showers throughout the night.

There was snow during the Yankees vs Devil Rays game last night and they kept playing....I think a "snow out" would be if it's really really bad.

Then again, I'll be indoors and warm so what do I know?

I'm getting ready to walk out the door to go to the game right now. Everyone wish me luck. If I'm thawed out by the time I get home I'll tell you all how much "fun" it was.

Well, Detroit's game did get postponed...so, it's a possibility I suppose. In my three years with the Reds, I don't ever remember it being THIS cold. I sure hope it goes on as planned. I'm heading to a sports bar to watch the game tonight with my g/f....and my brand new Reds hat

They postponed the White Sox game here tonight because the wind chill is supposed to fall below 0.

I don't think it's going to be quite that bad here, tonight.

Extreme windchills I can understand postponement

Geez, what a bunch of pansies. What else do you expect from a league that won't allow their pitcher to hit?

I think postponing games for cold is a little ridiculous myself. You never hear that complaint during football season. What's the difference?

I have many great memories of sitting in the cold and snow at baseball games under a "stadium blanket". Including one just last April at Yankee Stadium. It was freezing, but it was fun.

    Kids today!
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

I think it's so odd that it's this cold during baseball. Like I said, I hope the game goes on...and hopefully without the wind this time. How many times do you think the Reds were robbed of home runs because of the wind recently?
