Probably why he had a 1-2-3 inning.
Yea, they made it sound like the hitters were pretty off balanced.

I agree. I just think it would be something nice to tell him to do.

    Bailey
    42 strikes thrown
    41 balls thrown

His stat line looked real good, but that is pretty poor. I hope it was the 41 degree weather in Louisville that had something to do with that.

Brad Salmon came on to pitch the 9th and allowed an infield single before getting a doubleplay and popout. Louisville won 13-3.

    Salmon is off to a good start this season: 2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K

Not bad, he had a uglier opening day last year. Lecure also flashed some good stuff, if looking rusty.

I wouldn't worry to much about command yet. Only his first start(power pitchers can be slow starters).

Ex.Red Abe Woody got a little revenge on his old franchise.

Anyone else find amusment in the fact that Homer was pitching today, meaning that for the forseeable future, he'll be on the same pitching schedule as Eric Milton?

    Lookouts Article from Chattanoogan.com:

Mobile BayBears Beat Lookouts Sunday, 5-1
Chattanooga Home Opener To Be Wednesday Night
    by Tim Evearitt
    posted April 8, 2007

Mobile's Mark Reynolds went 3-for-4 and belted his second home run of the season to spark the BayBears (3-1) to a 5-1 victory over visiting Chattanooga (1-3) on Sunday.

Lookouts reliever Carlos Guevara (0-1) took the loss for the Lookouts. In two innings pitched, he gave up one hit but that hit was Reynolds' homer.

Reynolds also singled, doubled and scored twice. Chris Rahl contributed two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the BayBears.

Hot hitting Drew Anderson went 1-for-4 dropping his average to .529

Reynolds' solo shot to center field broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning. The 23-year-old third baseman also hit a leadoff double to spark a three-run eighth that included an RBI single by Rahl.

Chattanooga starter Sam Leclure surrendered four hits and a run over four innings.

Justin Mallet threw two innings for the Lookouts. He was hit hard giving up three earned runs on four hits.

Mobile starter Matthew Green (1-0) gave up one run on three hits over five innings for the win, walking three and striking out five.

Abe Woody, who helped himself with an RBI single in the eighth, fanned four over two scoreless innings for his first Double-A save.

The teams square off again Monday night before the Lookouts head for home with a day off Tuesday. Wednesday is Opening Day at AT&T Field. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
