    Friday's Lineup

According to C. Trent's Blog EE and Hamilton will start Friday in Wrigley. He postulates that Freel will play 2nd and Phillips will get an extra day- off. If this is so, whats your line-up?

    Mine:
    Freel - 2nd
    Hamilton - CF
    Dunn - LF
    EE - 3B
    Griffey - RF
    Hatteberg - 1B
    Ross - C
    Gonzalez - SS

Thats a whole lot of lefties going against Zambrano.

Swap Hat/Hamilton and Gonzo/Ross and I can see Jerry running that out there.

That's one hell of a lineup right there.

If you want lefties, then why not swap in Javy for Ross? Ross will catch for Bronson on Saturday, plus LHP in Hill is pitching. Mine would go:

    Freel
    Hatty
    Dunn
    EE
    Griffey
    Hamilton
    Gonzalez
    Javy

I would like for Hambone to hit up furhter than the 6 hole, but with Narron's LRL philosophy I guess that's a good problem to have.

So much for Ryan Freel being the everyday center fielder. I guess it's a good problem to have right now though.

Sadly this looks like just a one day thing.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

I think Javy starts as well. Swap Javy in for Ross and I think you've got it.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

On a side note, glad to see that EE's "send a message" deal was just that -- send the message and move on. Glad he'll be back in the lineup. The Reds need his bat if they're going to compete.

I'm also of the opinion that as long as Hamilton hits, he's an everyday player somewhere on the diamond.

    Re: Friday's Lineup

    2B Freel
    CF Hamilton
    3B Encarnacion
    LF Dunn
    RF Griffey
    1B Hattaberg
    SS Gonzanlez
    C Valentin

I go with Valetin at catcher. I've seen Roos strike out one to many times. Hes at-bats have been horrible.

Yeah. Ross has looked pitiful swinging the bat. The swing just looks half hearted and he's swinging at pretty much everything they throw up there. Almost like he can't wait to get back to the dugout. You could time his bat speed with an hour glass.

Yeah, but I think Ross is a better C defensively than Valentin.

But, again, so is a cement wall.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Moeller get a start down the road. Maybe Sunday or Monday. They say he handles pitchers well and God knows Milton can use all the help he can get.

Where do you get these lineups so early? Who gets them from Jerry?

I like the pop that Josh provides at the top of the order. And it sets up the L-R-L-R for the top 5 guys in the order. I also like Valentin getting more shots as a starter. He's earned it. Especially against RH pitchers like Zambrano.
Here's to another record-breaking season from Adam Dunn ...another 40 homeruns (all coming with nothing on the line) and 200 Ks! We Want King Jay!!
