I would rather have Josh batting against a lefty than Castro.I mean thats what this lineup comes down to.Play Freel at 2nd,BP at SS, and Hamilton in CF.I still take Josh over Castro at the plate any day, against righty or lefty.

He probably doesn't want BP and Freel playing out of position this early on. I'd be curious of what Freel could do at short.

I think having two middle infielders playing out of position will cost you more runs than having Josh Hamilton in would create vs Rich Hill.

Hamilton was badly fooled by the Cubs lefties late in the game yesterday. Griffey and Dunn are pretty good against lefties, and Freel is right handed. Right move to sit Hamilton today, at least for the start.

Castro, who (again) got an important single yesterday, and fielded the position flawlessly, should be at shortstop today. Moving Phillips and Freel out of position will only mess up an infield that has been excellent defensively.

Glad Conine is at cleanup. EE is starting to press and Reds need to take the pressure off him for awhile, until he gets untracked. Conine logical cleanup guy against lefty for today.

Only question I have is Ross hitting eighth. Guy needs to get going, likely won't get much to hit in the eighth spot.

Time to get Lou upset again.

Exactly! This is the right lineup, considering the situation and the pitcher for the Cubs.

I don't have a problem with Conine clean-up with EE struggling a bit. Take some pressure off EE and Conine will be a testy out against the lefty Hill today, watch and see...

Why not JR cleanup? both lefties so it's not a breaking the lefties up thing, odd.

Except Conine is a right handed hitter... or were you talking about someone else?

How many different lineups have we seen thus far for the Reds?

Anyone see this lastest gem from Narron yet? Per Fay:

So no Josh Hamilton with lefty Rich Hill starting. Jerry Narron said Ryan Freel will probably get a start or two at third base soon in order to get Hamilton time in center field.
I suppose EE could use a day off or two... I hope this is not a sign.
